Line Cook

If you’re a passionate cook looking to deepen your craft, work with exceptional ingredients, and learn from an experienced and respected chef—this is the opportunity for you. We’re looking for a full-time Line Cook to join our kitchen team under the guidance of amazing Head Chef Jennifer Boye.

  • Link Cook responsibilities include:

    • Execute a regularly changing menu rooted in whole animal butchery, seasonal produce, and scratch cooking.

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient station during service.

    • Collaborate with a supportive team that values quality, creativity, and professionalism.

  • Line Cook skills and qualifications:

Line Cook/butcher

We’re looking for a full-time Line Cook to split time between our café kitchen and butchery operations. This is a unique opportunity to grow your culinary skills while learning from skilled butchers in a supportive, small-team environment.

    • Prepare thoughtfully crafted, seasonal dishes using house-butchered meats and locally sourced produce.

    • Learn butchery fundamentals and assist with meat prep and value-added production.

Butcher Shop Counter Worker

Part-time

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Counter Worker to join our team. In this role, you’ll be the face of Moriarty Meats, helping customers at the butcher counter, managing our shop freezer, and ensuring that everyone who walks through our door receives top-notch service. If you have a passion for food, enjoy working with people, and are eager to learn, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

  • Butcher Shop Counter Worker responsibilities include:

    • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with meat selections, performing secondary meat cutting, packing meat, and handling transactions.

    • Manage the butcher shop freezer, including organizing, restocking, and tracking inventory.

    • Support butchers by restocking supplies, labeling, and maintaining cleanliness at the counter.

  • Butcher Shop Counter Worker skills and qualifications:

    • A passion for food and a desire to learn about different meat cuts and culinary uses.

    • Strong communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Assistant Butcher*

Full-time

Moriarty Meats is looking to hire a butcher to fabricate fresh meat from the whole animals that we intake weekly.

  • Assistant Butcher responsibilities include:

    • Breaking down sides of beef, lamb, and pork into case-ready cuts  

    • Making sausage and prepared foods

    • Setting up presentation of retail cases 

    • Accepting deliveries and placing orders 

    • Assisting customers during retail hours 

    • Depending on experience, possible opportunity to help in the cafe kitchen

  • Assistant Butcher skills and qualifications:

    • Culinary degree

    • 3 years of kitchen experience

    • Experience in whole animal butchery is ideal!

    * Compensation is commensurate with experience, from $18–24/hr. Experienced butchers may be considered for a more advanced role.

Café Counter Server*

Part-time

Moriarty Café is looking for an outgoing counter server. Are you friendly, personable, and values great customer service and quality food? Then we would love to welcome you on our customer service team.

  • Café Counter Server responsibilities include:

    • Greet customers as they come into the café bar and offer your assistance with their orders

    • Ring up food orders and communicate those orders to the kitchen staff, making sure to note any special requests so all items are made correctly

    • Explain menu items to customers with enthusiasm and descriptive language, and be knowledgeable about our ingredients so you can tell customers about our commitment to quality ingredients and whole animal butchery

    • Run orders from the kitchen to tables  

    • Bus tables and ensure a clean eating environment 

  • Café Counter Server skills and qualifications:

    Required:

    • Availability lunches: Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Positive attitude and friendly demeanor

    Preferred:

    • Previous food service experience

    • Experience handling cash and using credit card processing machines
